Communications Engineer from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1990), Master in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1993) and PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering – Imperial College, University of London (1998). Full professor at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics, ad-hoc consultant at the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel. He is a course and institutional evaluator of the National Higher Education Assessment System – SINAES/MEC, and a member of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC), the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science (SBPC) and the Brazilian Association of Engineering Education ( ABENGE). He has experience in the area of Computer Engineering with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, and works mainly on the following topics: Machine Learning, Complex Networks, Intelligent Autonomous Systems and Engineering Education.
