Denise Beatriz Teixeira Pinto do Areal Ferrari

Faculty Member, Advisor

Associate Professor at the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), in the Department of Management and Decision Support. He has a degree in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering (2003) and a master’s degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering (2005), both from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), in addition to a Master’s degree (2008) and Doctorate (2010) in Statistics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research involves the investigation and application of quantitative methods to analyze complex systems in the presence of uncertainties, with the aim of predicting responses, quantifying the reliability of such predictions, obtaining robust solutions and reducing associated costs (experimental or computational). To do this, it uses applied probability and statistics tools, experiment planning, simulation, predictive modeling, sensitivity analysis, optimization, among others.
