Guilherme Borges Ribeiro

He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and master’s and doctorate in Engineering and Thermal Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). He is currently a professor in the Department of Energy of the Mechanical Engineering Division of the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). He is a permanent professor of the postgraduate program in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, and also of the postgraduate program in Space Sciences and Technologies, both at the Aeronautical Technological Institute (ITA). He is a collaborating professor in the engineering specialization program (professional master’s degree) at Embraer. He is general coordinator of the postgraduate program in Space Sciences and Technologies at ITA. He is associate editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, and of the journal Thermal Science and Engineering Progress. He is guest editor of the journal Machines. He has experience in the area of Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Thermal Engineering, working on flow and heat transfer of equipment and refrigeration cycles, phase change flows, thermal energy storage systems, and thermal cycles for nuclear and hypersonic propulsion. More precisely, he has experience in the analysis and development of Rankine, Brayton and Stirling thermal cycles, scramjet engines, mechanical vapor compression refrigeration systems, heat pipes, heat exchangers, computational fluid dynamics, boiling and two-phase flows.
